Guy Laramée is an artist of many talents; successfully conquering the disciplines of theater writing and directing, contemporary music composition, musical instrument design and building, singing, video, scenography, sculpture, installation, painting, and literature. The conglomeration of his works have been shown throughout the United States, Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, and Latin America.
Influenced strongly by the 9th century Chinese poet, Han Shan and 13th century Japanese Zen Buddhist, Dogen, Laramée’s work has a unique way of encompassing his many passions into a sole project. Laramée uses single and multiple volume books to create exceptional landscape sculptures. Carving into the pages, Laramée transforms hundreds and thousands of written pages into extraordinarily realistic and tremendously detailed imitations of fascinating settings.
